Biography:

Research interest:

statistical physics, nonlinear dynamics, chaos, stochastic processes, disordered systems, models of neural networks, extreme value statistics, field theory of dislocation systems, variational mechanics.

Prizes:

Novobátzky prize of the Roland Eötvös Physical Society in 1992.
Physics prize of the Physics Section of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HAS) in 1995.
Oustanding Referee for the Journals of the American Physical Society in 2013.

Positions in the past 20 years:

Senior researcher of the HAS at the Department of Theoretical Physics, Eötvös University until 2008.
Guest resercher at the Solid State Recearch Institute of the HAS (half position) for 6 months in 2008.
Guest researcher at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, for eight months in 2009.
Associate professor at the Department of Materials Physics, Eötvös University since 2010.

Teaching experience: Theoretical mechanics (courses at various levels); Electrodynamics; Statistical mechanics of disordered systems; Extreme value statistics; Student seminars in classical field theory and statistical physics.
