Communications 2.0 - how quantum mechanics improves classical communications - basics and challenges

Abstract: Thanks to Shannon we know the limitations of classical communication systems. However, quantum mechanics opens new horizons for dauntless explores of Nature. In this lecture various examples of quantum assisted communication will be introduced where the classical limits have already been exceeded.  Teleportation, superdense coding, quantum key distribution etc. provide new approach for engineers and reforms the usual methodology. Beside the explanation of theoretical background recent experiments will also be surveyed.
