Cosmic Matter in the Laboratory - Science at FAIR
Abstract:
The Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research FAIR is an international large-scale accelerator complex which is currently been constructed in Darmstadt, Germany. FAIR will provide a variety of high intensity beams, from proton to Uranium, cooled antiprotons and radioactive beams. With its state-of-the art accelerators, storage rings and experimental instrumentation FAIR allows for an outstanding and world class research program in hadron, nuclear, atomic, plasma physics and applied sciences.
About the lecturer:
This lecture is part of the Zimányi-COST Winter School on Heavy Ion Physics
