Physics Laboratory 4
Description: In this laboratory practice students study advanced methods and techniques used in nuclear and materials science, as well as engineering. They investigate basic atomic and nuclear physics phenomena (Compton, Mössbauer effect), work with microscopes (TEM, SEM, AFM), carry out diffraction (X-ray, electron) and spectroscopy (X-ray, γ, Mössbauer, NMR, etc) measurements, acquaint themselves with electronic measurement techniques (e.g. coincidence) and study the operation of nuclear reactors. Students perform measurements in groups, and prepare detailed lab reports individually.
