Biography:
Daniel Kincses obtained his Ph.D. in 2023 at Eötvös Loránd University. He works in the field of high-energy heavy-ion physics, with a focus on experimental and phenomenological investigations of particle correlations and femtoscopy. He is a member of the PHENIX and STAR experiments at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), and has spent significant time at both experiments in Brookhaven National Laboratory throughout his carreer. In 2019, he spent a semester at the State University of New York, Stony Brook, with a Fulbright Scholarship. He won prestigious awards and scholarships such as the Pro Scientia Gold Medal, the Tamás Roska Scientific Lecture Award, the New National Excellence Scholarship (multiple times), and most recently the NKFIH Postdoctoral Excellence Scholarship. He has presented his research at more than 40 international conferences, many times in the name of a large international collaboration. He has been co-chair of the Local Organizing Committee of the Zimányi School Winter Workshop on Heavy Ion Physics since 2022, and the chair of the committee since 2026. He is actively teaching at Eötvös University since 2016, at laboratory practices organized by the Department of Atomic Physics, as well as specialized courses on heavy-ion physics. He is also active in mentoring students at all levels, and has supervised multiple undergraduate and graduate thesis works.
