What have we really learned about the quark gluon plasma?

Az előadás kivonata: With over twenty years of running at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider and a decade at the Large Hadron Collider, it is useful to take stock of what the field has really learned about the Quark-Gluon Plasma. The field has a standard model for the time evolution of nucleus-nucleus collisions, just as the big bang model describes the evolution of the early universe. What aspects of this standard model are firm and what aspects should be questioned more carefully? New data at RHIC and the LHC with major upgrades will provide new precision, and we explore how that may refine this standard model and our understanding of QCD.
