Biográfia:
Anikó Mentes obtained her Ph.D. in Microbiology from Eötvös Loránd University in 2020, where her research concentrated on conducting a comprehensive comparative analysis of unique shallow lakes in the Carpathian Basin. Employing a multidisciplinary approach, she integrated molecular techniques, cultivation-based methods, and bioinformatic and taxonomic tools to investigate the microbiological aspects of these ecosystems.Following her Ph.D., Anikó transitioned from laboratory-based microbiology to the field of bioinformatics. She began her journey as an Assistant Research Fellow at the Protein Structure Research Group, Eötvös Loránd Research Network (ELRN / RCNS HAS), where her focus was on analyzing interactions of disordered proteins.
Currently, Anikó holds a research fellow position at the Department of Physics of Complex Systems at Eötvös Loránd University. Her primary research area revolves around the analysis of SARS-CoV-2 genomic data. In this role, she contributes to the investigation of genomic characteristics and mutations of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
